Em 1934, Rietveld construiu as primeiras peças em “madeira de pallet”, que consiste em madeira de materiais reciclados. Na década 30, com a crise econômica, nada foi desperdiçado. Essa cadeira se tornou revolucionária para aquela época por ser feita de pallet. 

A nossa Cadeira/Poltrona Crate (Caixote) não é feita de Pallet mas as medidas são as mesmas da cadeira original, sendo uma poltrona pequena e baixa.
